Hi! My name is Mandy Arcitio and I am the owner of Lotus Style Living! I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio but found my way to the Island of Oahu thanks to the military, and I never left. I am a military veteran’s wife, mother of two young boys, a military veteran, and we have a rambunctious labrador puppy. To say life sounds a bit chaotic, this would be an accurate statement.
Before the puppy, I was a full time dual masters degree student, studying aromatherapy and complementary alternative medicine. You could say I traded one chaos situation for another. HAHA! Chaos loves to find me but I don’t love the chaos all that much. However, I try to find ways to manage the chaos into order through safe aromatherapy solutions.
My mission is to help busy moms like you become more confident in using essential oils safely around your little (or not so little) ones and your household during chaotic times. I will never forget the time when I realized my anger, anxiety, and depression had gotten so out of control and had to ask the doctor for help. While utilizing talk therapy, I also used my class time and projects to study how essential oils can assist oneself before, during, and after a moment of imperfect parenting. My boys can now ask for essential oils by name because they know if mom is mad, Bergamot can calm her down.
I remember the hours I would spend on Google looking for safe, solid, and reliable information on the use of essential oils and not having much luck. That is when I decided to go to school and get a degree in aromatherapy. I wanted to make sure I had the best, most reliable resources when it came to using, sharing, and teaching others about essential oils. Lotus Style Living was born during a homework session in 2019. I was completing homework for my bachelor’s degree in business when I got the sudden urge to work on my business idea. This urge was not going to go away until I had worked out most of the details on the logo! It was so therapeutic!
This might sound a little woo woo, but when I say that it was the strongest intuitive feelings that led me to what the logo is today, it makes me giddy how amazing it fits with everything. The navy blue represents my time in the military, the maroon color keeps me connected to Cincinnati, the dark fuchsia color is one of my favorite crazy hair colors I had prior to the military, and the last two pinks are just because I love pink! I am very much a Moon child and love a great Moon sighting, while the 4 stars represent my little family. The Moon now also represents our puppy who came to us already named; Luna. The Lotus flower represents you and your desire to stay strong through the chaos as well as continuing to find new solutions through essential oils.
